DTN COMMENTS:  A light trade has been reported in all three major feeding 
states at midday. Southern live deals are marked at $167, $4 higher than 
last week's weighted average. Dressed sales in Nebraska are at $270, $5 
higher than last week's weighted average. Some asking prices remain firm 
around $167 to $168 in the South, Northern dressed asking prices are around 
$271-plus, and $167 to $168 live. 

Beef cutouts are lower at midday (choice 279.25 -1.04, select 268.34 -0.56) 
with light to moderate box movement (32.56 lds of choice cuts, 7.76 lds of 
select cuts, 7.07 lds of trim, and 10.25 lds of ground). Both live and 
cattle futures are moderately to sharply higher at the top of the noon hour.
